935 Silver & Enamel Erotic Cigarette Case w/ Paul Chabas's September Morn

Thank you for considering this 935 silver cigarette case with a painted enamel scene of Paul Chabas's "September Morn." Early 20th century German silver and enamel erotic cigarette case. Slightly curved rectangular form, the cover decorated with a painted enamel scene depicting a young nude woman standing in shallow water leaning slightly forward with a mountain landscape in the background, plain sides and underside, rectangular thumb piece. Inscription in German on the inside, a commemoration of a meeting in Felde, Germany, 1914. Missing inside fabric bands.

September Morn (Matinee de Septembre) was painted during several summers by Paul Emile Chabas (1869-1937) and finished in 1911. The painting was exhibited in 1912 at the Paris Spring Salon, it received positive reviews and is classified as Chabas's masterpiece.
